Here you’ll find a remedy to mass produced, modern household items…every piece of pottery we stock is handmade using traditional techniques by our founder, potter Elaine Fallon. These are literally one of a kind pieces, each with its own initially imperceptible differences that you only come to notice over months of use. Slowly you discover the unique qualities that each item holds...a slight curve here, a slight groove there...each one develops its own personality and treasured place in your household. These are high quality products made to last, using the highest grade materials, lovingly crafted to sit perfectly in your hands as you go about your day. Over time you develop a deep, grounding relationship with your cherished ceramics, as they take part in your daily rituals, until eventually they become timeless household treasures remembered by generations. These time-honoured craft items bring a reassuring sense of tradition and belonging to our fast paced modern lives - a salve, if you will, to soothe the soul. Traditional Techniques: All of our ceramic tableware is handmade on the potter’s wheel, using various types of clay; porcelain, stoneware & speckled clay, for example. Once each item has been formed, it is fired in the kiln, after which we call it ‘biscuitware’. The biscuitware is coated in a liquid glaze produced right here in the pottery, and then fired a second time to produce the finished product.
