Tree Medoum Bowl
Medium white stoneware porcelain (large shown , identical in clay and pattern but measuring 19 cms Diam x 10 cms bowl, handthrown with blue/ red handpainted Tree pattern. Perfect to use as a salad bowl or fruit holder, or simply on it's own! I throw the pot on my small potter's wheel and leave it to dry out slightly. When strong enough to handle, I trim the base and handpaint the colourful Tree motif on the exterior. A week left to dry in a hot studio and then it goes into the kiln for the first firing, called the biscuit firing. Glazing comes next using a transparent glaze and then it's back into the kiln for it's final firing at a temperature of 1200 degrees celsius.
The result is a unique, handcrafted vase with a timeless design, to enjoy and use in your home for many years.
