Windfall Bowl from St Anne's Park
White stoneware bowl, handthrown with graphics of feathers collected in St Anne's Park Raheny in blues and turquoise. Perfect to use as a large salad bowl or fruit holder, or simply on it's own! I throw the pot on my small potter's wheel and leave it to dry out slightly. When strong enough to handle, I trim the base and then decorate. A week left to dry in a hot studio and then it goes into the kiln for the first firing, called the biscuit firing. Glazing comes next using a transparent glaze and then it's back into the kiln for it's final firing at a temperature of 1200 degrees celsius.
The result is a unique, handcrafted vase with a timeless design, to enjoy and use in your home for many years.
