For an exhibition on wildlife conservation, artist Barry Quinn became interested in the idea of wildlife corridors, natural "highways" in urbanised areas, to help improve the biodiversity that is threatened by habitat loss. Such spaces don't just benefit ground mammals that need to navigate around roadways, but can also offer safe breeding and nesting habitats for birds.

Barry Quinn is a wildlife and children's illustrator from Ireland. He writes: "I love story-telling, science communication and fantasy realism. My work is influenced by a passion for the natural world and often explores our complex relationship with the environment. I especially love to take complex subjects and parse them into imaginative and emotional visual stories."
